Thanks for that razzle. I don't suppose you know what the piece of music was that preceeded the concert. It sounded like something from The Raven, or The Blue Mask maybe? It was the piece of music that accompanied the wave film just prior to the concert. Many thanks. 8-)

Wasn't it Like a Possum ?
It's from Ecstasy, and it's usually used with the waves film.
In Zurich they opened the doors at 6:00, two hours before show time ... and we had Like a Possum during TWO HOURS eusa_wall.gif

C'mon that was only 6-7 times you could hear it in 2 hours! [12.gif] Sorry, it's just a joke I couldn't resist not to make...

Yes, that was it. Thanks for that Lisa. Hmm, Two hours of Like A Possum. I guess you know it fairly well then :D

I actually downloaded Ecstacy & Like A Posum had been omited from the album. I will have to get a hard copy now, & then play it for two hours. :D

I've uploaded some of my very blurry (arty?) photographs from the RAH show for the 30th of June, 2008 as a slide show on photobucket. Hope they aren't too headache inducing. [17.gif]

what a piece of garbage is that first review! I don't know how journalists still get away with the "I don't know anything about what I'm writing on, but..." He says he doesn't know why they're doing Berlin, not Transformer, when it was Transformer that was the big success--that's the point, you twit! And he says he was a goth, but doesn't like or even know the Berlin album? How much more proto-goth can it get than Berlin?

and he's never seen Emmanuelle Seignier before? This guy is a cultural infant.

well the first piece by simon price is basically journalistic masturbation. notice how he has to include how he faked shooting up heroin in a previous article. the silly twat would probably faint if he ever saw a hardcore junkie shooting up dope. and when does wearing wire rimmed glasses prove you're a "serious artist" ? what's that got to do with the concert? and i don't think Berlin pretends to a literary masterpiece-- it is, however, a great musical concept that explores the darker side of human emotion in very direct terms that very few rock/pop musicians would attempt to do. and what's wrong with giving it a big theatrical production? the general consensus is that it SOUNDED great. that is what people respond to. it's really not something that can be adequately put into words.

the second piece i thought does come close to roughly describing what Berlin is about by comparing it to " drying, decaying flowers". nice metaphor and quite aptly suggests the loss in a disintegrating relationship.

i have mixed feelings about the encores. personally i would have continued with some more of the darker themes: say "dirt", "street hassle",
and perhaps end it with "coney island baby". then for the finale come back with "the power of the heart".................
