Hello
I was at the French concert yesterday night at Salle Pleyel (I saw also the previous tour last year in Paris at Palais des Congres).
The show was introduced by a quick speach from Hal Willner. Lou Reed did the Berlin album from Berlin to Sad Song with an small introduction that sounds like Sad Song (same as last year). Then he did 3 encore : Satellite of love, Rock'n'Roll and The Power of the Heart (new song).
Great show overall, I dream there will be a DVD of this show...
Never saw Lou Reed so happy on stage (laught several times), very close to Steve Hunter and Tony Thunder Smith. New version of Rock'n Roll, very interesting : he talked more than he sang it and the rhythm was somehow different than the known version, I only was able to recognize the song by the lyrics.
The band was at its top, but Steve kicks every others ass ! He did a breathtalking solo Men of Good Fortune.
Great version of How do you Think it Feels and Sad Song.
Little bit desapointed by the fact that he did not played Sweet Jane like last year
The audience was mixed, but there was a lot of "seniors", I think due to the fact that it was at Pleyel and the ticket price was high. In the audience, you could see Emmanuelle Saigner who plays in the movie by Julian Schnabel, with her husband (movie director Roman Polanski). There was also Richard Belzer from "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".
Show was 1h30 long.
If anyone has photo, audio recording or film of this show please share !
